Letter from me

So five years ago I was probably a junior in high school. I do know that five years ago I was in Mrs. Gephart's psychology class, I'm not sure what this has to do with psychology, but she made us write a letter to ourselves that she would mail to us five years later, at the time I thought it was silly. Reading it now, I think it's funny, and kinda sad too. Here it is. And yes all smiley faces really occurred in the real letter. My comments on letter are in text...

Dear Meg (in five years) <----Yes I'm a dork April 28, 2003
This is my letter to you (me) that I wrote (am writing) for psychology, my (your) junior year. I am hoping that you (I) am doing well. Like how I clarify the tenses?Hopefully you (I) have found a very good looking return missionary and have settled down. :) Nope, sorry! I know Mom was probably VERY keen on him being good looking. :) Gotta love Mom. She is great. She is great, an also determined to have cute grand kids that live in the same town as her... meaning I can't leave!

College is/was probably great. I hope you have settled on a career. I wonder what you (I) have chosen. Landscaping? Physical therapy? Dentistry? Whatever it is I hope you (I) love it. I don't remember wanting to be a dentist... maybe it was a random career that day...

So this hopeful mate- or any guy you (I) am dating- is he everything we dreamed of? Does he make you laugh everyday? Is he kind? Does he honor his priesthood? Can he/did he take you to the temple? Does he love kids? Does he respect your (my) dreams? Let's hope he isn't a geek- Mom would have to kill us! :) If only, If only... I love how much I know at such a young age what my mother expected from me...

So how is the family? Did you (I) go to the same college as Conly? Yes. Were we there at the same time?Yes. I bet some nice girl has him wrapped around her finger. He always falls hard for those silly girls. :) He does, but no luck yet, still too shy. I bet Dad is still fighting fires and Mom is still showing dogs.Yep. I wonder if she will ever get down to two. :) Nope. They probably still live in the same house and Mom probably got sick of your purple room. She painted it green about a year ago... you actually consented, although you wouldn't have if you knew that it would later look like baby poop green in certain lights...

Did you (I) ever figure out how to be organized? Kinda. Mom really thinks I am a mess. There is just no time to be clean and tidy, and anyway, it is my nature to be messy! :) Disclaimer: I'm a clean person, just not super tidy and organized. Look at how I'm justifying things. I probably still do that and you (I) probably over analyze things still. It's the bane of my existence to this day, even had an issue of that today! Stupid over analyzing.

So what's become of your (my) friends from high school? They all got married... And is Jesse Munns still a friend of Conly and the family? I hope he is. Your (my) cute guy is probably a lot cuter than him. Can you tell I had a crush on Jesse and wanted to marry him, but he was too stupid to notice, that's okay now, I grew out of the Jesse liking phase pretty fast! Well, I can't think of anything else. Bye. Have a good life. ?

Sincerely,
Meg :) (Holy lots of smileys!!!!!)

P.S. Are you still friends with Ryan Silvester? No crush on this boy, he was just my best friend and was sitting next to me at the time, he wanted me to add that...

That's so cute Megan! I want a letter from me five years ago. Probably won't happen since I don't remember writing one. I like how most of the letter was about her (your) husband/boyfriend. She (you) would be disappointed in you (her)... :)
